Pam Braun, former chef and restaurant owner, was diagnosed in 2004 at the age of 52 with late-stage fallopian tube cancer. She was given a 15% chance of survival and a 75% chance of recurrence. The fierce determination to do all she could through her cancer journey, in conjunction with traditional medical treatment, compelled her to begin researching the science of food and its relationship to cancer. She currently lives happily, healthfully, and cancer-free in Los Angeles.
