What is Bookstore Day?
The first California Bookstore Day will take place on Saturday May 3, 2014. CBD will harness the creative power of authors, publishers, and booksellers in a state-wide celebration of books and indie bookstores that’s part party, part literary happening and part sales event.
For one day, and one day only, limited, unique, word-based items and books will be available in more than 80 stores across CA. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill signed first editions—these are literature-based art projects, unique books, and collector’s items created for this event only. You can’t get them before. You can’t get them after.
Join us as we celebrate California Bookstore Day. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to hold our recurring Local Author Meet and Greet in conjunction with this inaugural event. Not only will readers have a chance to mingle with over 20 local authors at our casual afternoon mixer, starting at 3:00pm, but also just as with California Record Store Day (the inspiration for California Bookstore Day), there will be plenty of limited edition merchandise available! For more information, check out CBD’s website . Please note the exclusive CBD items are only available in-store.
Featuring Kwei Quartey, author of Murder at Cape Three Points, David Kukoff, author of Children of the Canyon, Sharon Weil, author of Donny and Ursula Save the World, and Michael Elias, author of The Last Conquistador.
